Theatre and Film Performance (Ages 12-16)
ABOUT
Perfect for young performers aged 12–16, our Theatre & Film Performance class is designed for those who want to develop their skills both on stage and in front of the camera.
This exciting two-hour class combines theatre performance, TV & film acting, script work, character development and confidence building, giving young people the opportunity to explore different styles of performance in a fun, supportive and encouraging environment.
Students will work with scripts from theatre, television and film, learning how to create believable characters, develop emotional range, deliver lines naturally and understand how performance changes between stage and screen.
We'll also explore audition technique, improvisation, monologues and scene work, helping students feel more confident whether they're performing in class, preparing for an audition or simply looking to develop their communication skills.
Alongside weekly classes, students will have opportunities to take part in West End workshops and industry-inspired activities, giving them an insight into the world of professional performance.
For students who are interested in qualifications, we can also provide support with LAMDA preparation and 1:1 coaching, as well as helping students prepare for school drama exams, presentations and other performance-based assessments where appropriate.
Whether your child dreams of performing professionally, wants to explore acting for the first time, or simply wants to become more confident, expressive and comfortable in front of others, this class provides a space to develop their skills and find their voice.

CLASS STRUCTURE
Theatre Performance
Students will explore script work, characterisation, improvisation, monologues and scene work, developing the skills needed to create engaging and believable performances.
We'll work on voice, movement, emotional expression and stage presence while encouraging students to develop their own creative choices and performance style.
TV & Film
Acting for the camera requires a different approach to performing on stage. Students will explore screen acting techniques, including naturalistic delivery, subtle reactions, eyelines, continuity and working within a camera frame.
Through filmed scenes and practical exercises, they'll gain confidence in seeing themselves on screen and learn how to make their performances feel authentic and engaging.
Confidence & Audition Skills
Students will develop the confidence to perform independently and work as part of an ensemble. We'll explore audition technique, monologues, cold reading, improvisation and self-expression, helping young people feel more prepared for auditions, workshops and future performance opportunities.
LAMDA & School Support
For students who want to work towards a LAMDA qualification, additional 1:1 support can be provided to help them prepare their pieces and develop their performance technique.
We can also support students with school drama exams, presentations and performance-based assessments, helping them feel confident and prepared.
West End & Industry Workshops
Students will have opportunities to take part in West End workshops and specialist sessions, giving them the chance to learn from experienced performers and practitioners while gaining an insight into the wider performing arts industry.
It's a brilliant opportunity for young people to build confidence, develop their craft and discover where their performance skills could take them.
